We fly off to Jamaica this evening, and I’m in that crazed frenzy every mother can identify with, so I’m taking five for a breather (while my nail polish dries!)

It’s an awesome color “purple with a purpose”, but one word of advice- after enjoying a pedi at the spa (thoughtful gift certificate from a wonderful friend) it is NOT wise to dance a one and a half hour foxtrot/ jive class. Smudged big toes.

So this morning, a last-minute mall trip was called for to make good on the nail situation, which was fine as I also had to purchase a new pair of flip flops for one of my boys. Another word of wisdom- do not leave a packed suitcase open and unattended, especially if you happen to have an English bulldog puppy who eats EVERYTHING!

We’re more or less ready and packed. Just the pets to drop off to their “vacation destinations”, grab some dinner, then off to the airport. Why is it that the build-up to the vacation is so exhausting? I suppose it does help us appreciate the time of relaxation even more. We all need to recharge and rejuvenate at some point. Hopefully, we come home embracing the challenges that await us with renewed purpose.

But right now, I’m looking forward to those moments I can truly “Be still.”
Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Whether you’re bone tired, heavily burdened with the weight of the world on your shoulders, or just need refreshment, God is our everything. Would you take a few minutes and listen to this powerful song? Have a “vacay moment”, put a tiny umbrella in your glass of water (or whatever), and close your eyes, listening for His voice:

Take care, my friends.

So much easier to “be still” in Jamaica!
