TODAY is book release day for my latest Christian romantic suspense novel, The Orphan Beach! Oh, friends, I am so thrilled to share this story with you. This is the third in my “Flight to Freedom” series, all published by Anaiah Press within twelve months! We have faced fears, kidnapping, family secrets, stalking, romance, shooting, weddings, abandonment, and a whole lot of suspenseful drama, all with a message of hope. Always pointing to God as Rescuer, Redeemer, and Rock. So I’m delighted to introduce you to the new book on the shelf…

“Life is spiraling out of control for pediatric nurse, Juliet Farr. Heart-broken, grief-stricken, and experiencing a crisis of faith—now she is the prime target for a crazed killer. When her ex-boyfriend, detective Max Bennett, returns to work the case in the Oregon Coast, he knows sharing the truth behind their break-up will destroy any possibility of a second chance together.

A manuscript, a maniac, and a mother’s love propel Juliet’s flight to a beach in Mexico as she desperately pursues hope and healing. Will she ever find freedom from the ache of abandonment? And when a troubled soul chooses Juliet as his perfect victim, can Max prove his love for her by risking his own life? Or will Orphan Beach be the end of their story?”

Of course, all my book babies are special to me, but this one took an unexpected, delightful detour as I began writing. In fact, The Orphan Beach led me back to a couple of Mexico mission trips I went on many years ago, and God reminded me of the preciousness of life, the importance of relationships, and how we need to trust Him when things don’t go as planned. I’ve seen that in my own life, and especially in my writing career. He is always faithful and merely asks that we take the next brave step with Him.

You see, nothing is wasted with God. Many of you know that I buried my secret dream of being an author for 25 years (a whole other story!), but I believe that period of time was rich with experiences, education, and emotions I would later tap into for my writing. In the photos above, you can see a much younger me snuggling a sweet baby in Mexico and then in the photo underneath, after years of writing, I was back in Mexico last month with The Orphan Beach. In 2007, I never would have dreamed God was writing words on my heart which would finally blossom into a story and be released 13 years later!

“Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.” 1 Corinthians 15:58b (MSG)

I hope that also encourages you to live each day in the present—knowing nothing is wasted and that there is One who sees and knows and loves you. This verse fits the theme of The Orphan Beach book so perfectly… I pray it will impact every reader:

“I know what I’m doing.

I have it all planned out—

plans to take care of you,

not abandon you,

plans to give you the future

you hope for.”

Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG)

So… I would love you to read Juliet’s story in this brand-new book! 🙂 If you haven’t read the other 2 books in this series yet, The Glass Bottom Boat and The Lighthouse Baby, that’s absolutely fine as they are all written to be stand-alone titles. (But if you have read the others, this one will be an extra treat!) The reviews are coming in and I’m truly humbled and grateful:

“There is a depth here that is missing from other books in this genre. BE WARNED: This is a page-turner! You may not be able to put it down!” (Goodreads)
