Where did they go? Well, it’s quite the story, but the short version is that my award-winning novellas, THE CHRISTMAS CABIN and SNOW GLOBE SECRETS, are now available just in time for the festive season. Phew! Plus, they both have gorgeous, fresh covers on the outside with the same beloved, suspenseful stories on the inside. Grab a mug of cocoa and let me explain…

It’s the email no author wants to receive. Ever. On October the 18^th, I was on the way to the dump with my hubby (not our regular date destination, but we were in the midst of decluttering our house for the upcoming move), when I read the saddest news from my publisher.

Anaiah Press were closing their doors in 2 short weeks. The very day we were to take possession of our new home, in fact. They had published 5 of my Christian romantic suspense books—for which I will be forever grateful—the entire Flight to Freedom series, including my 2 award-winning Christmas novellas…

In that moment, and then for a couple of days to follow, I was numb.

Now, if you know me, you’ll be aware that I am not one to be super-crazy dramatic and am generally a glass-half-to three-quarters-full kinda girl, but this was utterly devastating for me and for all the Anaiah authors. (If you’re a writer, you totally get it and are currently wailing alongside us).

I contacted my literary agent, and she confirmed my suspicions that another publishing house would be highly unlikely to take on a series, and my best course of action would probably be to self-publish. Y’all, I was in the midst of moving house, the Christmas novellas needed to be available for CHRISTMAS(!), and the learning curve to self-publishing was overwhelming to this frazzled soul.

UNLESS…

Unless, my agent said, I approached my other publisher, Mountain Brook Ink, who are currently publishing my Bite of Betrayal series of Christian romantic suspense. So, I got my brave on, held my breath, and tentatively offered these books I had put years of blood, sweat, and tears into writing—and they said YES! Yes, to republishing the entire series. Yes, to republishing my Christmas novellas in record time for the festive season, and yes, to creating absolutely stunning new covers!

This, dear friend, has been a huge answer to prayer. I am trusting that God is in control, that He will continue to put these stories of hope into the hands of readers at the perfect time, and that this whole series will be a blessing to all… including my phenomenal publisher, Mountain Brook Ink, who rode in on a literary white horse complete with wild, flowing mane—and rescued me!
